Police arrest another suspect from a Kitchener shooting from April

A fourth suspect has been arrested for a springtime shooting in Kitchener that put a man in hospital.

Waterloo regional police said a 21-year-old man from Kitchener was arrested Tuesday in the area of Linden Avenue in Kitchener.

They said he was arrested for violations of judicial release orders, but police added he was also wanted on a warrant for a shooting from April 9.

On that day, at around 2:00 a.m., police responded to a scene in the Lancaster Street West and Ash Street area, in the space behind a former convenience store.

A Waterloo man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in that shooting.

Three suspects were arrested and charged in the incident several weeks later.

Charges against this latest suspect are aggravated assault, forcible entry, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and assault with a weapon.

A statement from Regional Police to 570 NewsRadio says that at this time, there are no other suspects to be found, but the investigation is ongoing.
