Police are looking for two suspects who they believe are approaching people in a Kitchener community, attempting to scam them.
An incident on Sept. 22 prompted a response from officials after the caller reported a scam at an educational centre in the area of Doon Valley Drive and Home Watson Boulevard. This is in the same area of Conestoga College’s campus.
According to the press release, the victim was approached by two unknown males who claimed to be selling electronic equipment. After the victim paid for the items, the suspects failed to give the merchandise.
Through an investigation, police found that similar instances have happened in this location before.
The two people police are looking for are:
- Suspect 1: Asian male, in his 20s, average build
- Suspect 2: Middle Eastern male, 25 to 35 years old, curly hair, goatee, and moustache
Both suspects were seen using a grey Dodge Durango.
“Police are reminding the public to be cautious when approached by individuals offering goods for sale in person,” officials said. “If something feels suspicious, trust your instincts and report it.”
