Five arrested following ‘several fights’ at Kitchener plaza: WRPS

Five people, including four youths, have been arrested after ‘several fights’ were broken up by Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) at a plaza in Kitchener.
It happened on Friday, Sept. 19, when police were called regarding a disturbance in the area of University Avenue East and Fischer-Hallman Road.
Officers were told of several individuals, including both youth and adults, engaged in multiple ongoing physical fights. One youth needed to be transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police were able to break up the several fights, charging a 47-year-old Cambridge man with assault causing bodily harm.
Four youths were also charged with assault in relation to the incident. Those youths include a 14-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl, and two 15-year-old boys.
The investigation into what caused the disturbance is still ongoing through WRPS’ General Investigations Unit.
