Portable washroom fire sparks investigation in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police have opened an investigation after a portable washroom was set on fire in Cambridge.

It happened on Aug. 8 around 8:45 p.m. as Cambridge Fire Services responded to reports of a portable washroom on fire in the area of Cowan Boulevard, near the Fiddlesticks Community Centre.

Cambridge firefighters were able to safely extinguish the fire.

At the time, firefighters determined the cause to be toilet paper from a dispenser that was lit on fire.

The police investigation remains ongoing – no suspect descriptions have been made available at this time.
