Cambridge man charged with uttering threats, armed robbery

A 25-year-old Cambridge man is facing a list of charges after allegedly threatening a victim during a robbery in the city.

It happened on Friday shortly before 9 a.m. Police responded to a report of a robbery in the Samuelson Street area of Cambridge.

A victim told police that a mobility scooter was stolen from a backyard by a male brandishing a firearm. When the victim attempted to intervene, the suspect allegedly threatened to kill them.

The person then fled the area on foot.

Police were able to make an arrest a short time later. Officers said the firearm used in the robbery was an imitation.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old Cambridge male has been charged with several criminal offences, including:

  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm;
  • Robbery with a firearm;
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose;
  • Mischief under $5,000;
  • Disguise with intent; and
  • Point firearm
