Charges laid after hydro pole crash in Kitchener

A hydro pole in Kitchener was struck and broken by a sedan on Monday, leading to charges but no injuries in the crash.

According to regional police, the crash took place at around 4 p.m. in the area of Ottawa Street North and Montcalm Drive.

A Toyota sedan crashed into a hydro pole, which led to the pole breaking, with no injuries to the driver.

The 51-year-old from Kitchener was charged with careless driving.

The road was closed for several hours while crews removed the damaged pole.
