Knife pulled by shoplifting suspect at Cambridge store

A simple case of shoplifting in Cambridge became more serious when the suspect allegedly pulled a knife on the employees trying to get him out of their store.

Waterloo Regional Police were called out to a store around Pinebush Road and Hespeler Road, Sunday afternoon around 1 p.m.

Police said the suspect had been spotted by store staff stealing items, and the staff confronted him.

While they were escorting him out of the store, he allegedly brandished a knife at the staff.

Police said no one was hurt.

The 44-year-old man from Cambridge was charged with robbery, and utter threats to cause death.
