Loaded firearm found under vehicle in Cambridge

Waterloo regional police are now trying to figure out how a loaded firearm made its way to the area of Wellington Street in Cambridge.

According to police, it was around 8:45 p.m. on Thursday when they received a report of a found firearm, bringing officers to that area of Cambridge.

Police found the firearm under a vehicle and confirmed that it was loaded.

Officials haven’t specified what sort of firearm was found, though they have said the weapon was “safely seized.”

Police have noted that no associated shooting incidents or injuries have been reported.

The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information has been asked to contact police at 519-570-9777 extension 2299.
