Charges coming after cyclist was badly hurt in Kitchener crash

Charges are expected to be laid for a collision between an SUV and a person riding a bicycle in downtown Kitchener.

Waterloo regional police say it happened just before 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, at King Street East and Cedar Street North.

Police alleged a 20-year-old cyclist from Kitchener was struck by the vehicle.

He was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the 38-year-old man from Kitchener driving the SUV was not hurt.

Investigators expect to lay charges, but wanted to hear from more witnesses, especially anyone with video of what happened.
