Sexual assault under investigation in Woolwich Township

Waterloo Regional Police Service‘s Special Victims Unit is investigating a case of sexual assault in Woolwich Township.

Police say the assault occurred on May 15 around 5 p.m. on a walking trail northwest of Elmira, at the Woolwich Reservoir off of Reid Woods Drive.

An adult woman was walking on the trail when she was approached by a male youth on a bike.

The suspect is described as a white male, roughly 5’4″ tall with short brown hair and wearing a long-sleeved blue, green, and white plaid shirt, and jeans. The youth was riding a dark-coloured bicycle.

No physical injuries were reported, and anyone with information is being asked to contact police or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
