Youth sexually assaulted in Cambridge park

Waterloo regional police are now searching for a male suspect after a female youth was reportedly sexually assaulted in Soper Park in Cambridge.

It was around 3 p.m. on April 8 when that female youth was on the swings at Soper Park and was approached by an unknown man.

Police said that man spoke to the youth, began to push her on the swing and then sexually assaulted her. The youth did not report any physical injuries.

The suspect is described as being a Black man with a heavy build, between 18 to 40 years old. That man was said to have been wearing a black/grey hooded sweater with the hood up and was carrying a backpack with white wired earbuds.

Anyone with information that could assist police in their search is asked to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
