Cambridge man facing slew of charges after driving while impaired

It’s another example of the potential dangers of driving while impaired, as a Cambridge man is facing multiple charges after a collision.

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) said officers were called Saturday night at around 10:30 p.m. to the Highpoint Avenue area of Waterloo following a reported collision.

Officers have said the driver of a silver Jeep was moving through the area, lost control of the vehicle, and ultimately crashed into both a parked vehicle and a fence. Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident.

The driver of the vehicle, a 64-year-old man from Cambridge, was arrested by police and is now facing various charges centred around the collision and driving while impaired, as well as refusing to comply with a demand.

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the incident call WRPS.
