Kitchener Waterloo Skating Club (KWSC) members have been hard at work getting ready for Ice Show 2025, coming up on Saturday, March 29.
The show happens every two years and the 2025 edition is promising to be one of the best.
Anabelle Langlois, Technical Director, KWSC told 570 NewsRadio participants had the once in a lifetime chance to work with Olympic bronze medalist, World Champion and Stars on Ice Choreographer, Jeffery Buttle.
“Generally, working with somebody of the level of Jeffery is reserved for the top skaters in the world. So, this is a really great experience for all our developing skaters, to work with him.”
And, there are a lot of skaters participating with the help of an army of volunteers, according to Langlois.
“The last count I got was around 280 skaters. It takes 120 volunteers working around the clock to be able to pull this event together. 280 skaters is a lot of skaters to fit into one ice show.”
Skaters from all levels will be competing. From the learn to skate group, right up to the highest level of competitive skaters and even the skate for life adult group.
Langlois said some special guests will also be part of the show.
“This year our special guests are Ava Kempt and Yonathan Elizarov. They are two-time Canadian Champion in the junior ranks, in the pairs category. Ava and Yani are international competitors, they’ve won many medals at international competitions.”
There will be two performances on Saturday. The afternoon performance begins at 1:30 p.m. The evening show begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets for adults are $25 and will be available at the door.
