K-W Oktoberfest has a new President and it’s a familiar name in the Waterloo Region community.
Darryl Fletcher, better known as Chef D, has been elected as the head of the Bavarian festival’s board.
He was previously the 1st Vice-President and replaces Allan Cayenne, who had held the position since 2022.
“I am thrilled to be working with a great team of people. Importantly, I would like to give a huge shout out to Allan for giving his ‘everything’ to the Festival for the past three years,” said Fletcher in a release. “We would not be in the positive position we are, without his hard work, dedication and passion for our organization and Festhallen partners. I am so looking forward to celebrating the 2025 Festival with everyone!”
The festival’s new executive leadership team includes:
- President, Darryl Fletcher, Owner of ChefD Catering and Events
- Vice President, Rob Hesch, Vice President of Sales and Merchandising at Brand Momentum
- Second Vice President, Tim Hattle, Owner of Hattle Framing
- Treasurer, JoAnne McCormick, CEO of CFO Partners
While Cayenne is no longer President, his work with the festival isn’t over.
He moves into the Past President role, which will include guiding the governance of the KWO organization and leading the Board member nominating process.
The 57th annual K-W Oktoberfest runs from Sept. 26 to Oct. 18.
