Highway 85 reopens after police, emergency services respond to incident

Southbound lanes on Highway 85 were temporarily closed at Lancaster Street in Kitchener on Friday afternoon.

The closure took effect shortly after 1 p.m. and southbound lanes reopened around 2:30 p.m.

Waterloo Regional Police said emergency services responded to an incident at the Lancaster Street exit. Traffic was re-routed to the University Avenue off-ramp during the closure.

Police said they would not be releasing any further information on the incident due to the circumstances.
