Youth with BB gun charged after weapons call at Kitchener mall: WRPS

A weapons call at a Kitchener mall over the weekend led to charges for a local youth.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) was called Saturday afternoon due to reports of a male youth brandishing a baseball bat and a firearm in the Fairway Road and Wilson Avenue area.

Officers arrived to the area, which is where Fairview Park Mall is located, and arrested a youth.

Police also found a replica firearm which was determined to be a BB gun.

No one was hurt in the incident. The male youth was charged with two counts of weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of breaching a judicial order.
