Kitchener Rangers look to ground Spitfires at The Aud

The Kitchener Rangers will host the Windsor Spitfires at The Aud for the final this season on Friday, with the home team looking to even the season series at two games apiece.

These teams have spent most of the season jockeying back and forth for second overall, behind the London Knights. It now looks like the Rangers have that second spot locked up with a 5 point lead over Windsor and just a half-dozen games left to go, after tonight.

Windsor has proven to be a pest for the Blue Shirts, taking two of the three previous meetings, including a 12-2 blowout Windsor win back in September.

Rangers centreman Christian Humphreys is on a four game point streak where he’s potted three goals and three assists. Since joining the Rangers back in January 10, he’s led the club with 28 points in 23 games.

Coming up this week, the Rangers will celebrate March Break with the Downtown Showdown at Kitchener’s Carl Zehr square on Tuesday, March 112. The team will participate in a three-on-three game before a friendly skills competition on the outdoor rink at City Hall. It’s free to attend and kicks off at noon.

Mike Farwell and Paul Fixter will have the call of tonight’s action, live on 570 NewsRadio. The pregame show begins at 6:30 p.m. with puck drop set for just after 7 p.m.
