Victim threatened at knifepoint in hate-motivated incident in Kitchener

Police say a victim was not injured after they were threatened at knifepoint in what’s described as a hate-motivated incident in Kitchener.
Officers with the Waterloo Regional Police Service responded to a residential building on Kehl Street around 4 a.m. on Wednesday.
A victim in the building was allegedly approached by a man who uttered threats while brandishing a knife, and hurled racial and derogatory comments.
Police arrested a 33-year-old Kitchener man at the scene.
He’s been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
