The Kitchener Rangers closed out a long and arduous road trip on Tuesday night with a hard-fought 5-3 defeat to their bitter rivals: The London Knights.
The Blueshirts led the game on two separate occasions, but a trio of unanswered goals from the Knights put the contest out of reach.
With the win, the Knights pull even further ahead of the Rangers in the OHL standings and now sit five points clear of their rivals with a pair of games in hand.
The Knights officially clinched a playoff berth on Tuesday and will make an appearance in the post-season for the 24th straight year.
Rangers forward Trent Swick extended his point streak to four games, and he’s now the joint-top scorer for the East Avenue Blue with 48 points.
The Rangers return to The Aud at long last this Friday for a meeting with the Owen Sound Attack.
