Police arrest 3 after traffic stop involving stolen vehicle in Kitchener

A stolen vehicle in Kitchener has led to multiple arrests and the seizure of drugs and weapons.

Police said around 5:30 p.m. Thursday they located a stolen Chevrolet Camaro in the area of Holborn Drive and Old Chicopee Drive.

When police tried to stop the vehicle it sped up and struck an officer’s cruiser before being stopped by other police vehicles.

The three occupants, a 34-year-old man from Waterloo, a 33-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman both from Kitchener are facing several charges.

They include possession for the purpose of trafficking, failure to comply with a release order and dangerous operation.

In addition, fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, a crowbar, an energy weapon and a knife were found inside the vehicle.

All of the accused were held for a bail hearing.
