OPP investigating ‘road rage’ shooting on Hwy. 401 west of Milton

Members of the Cambridge detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a reported shooting incident on Highway 401 just west of Milton, believed to be motivated by road rage.
It was around 3 a.m. on Monday morning when OPP shared news that the westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed for a police investigation, spanning from Guelph Line in Milton through to Highway 6 South near Morriston.
Providing an update just before 6 a.m., investigators said two vehicles on the highway were involved in a shooting incident around 1:30 or 1:40 a.m.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark sedan. OPP said the victim’s vehicle, a Red Hyundai, was found to have bullet holes on its driver’s side.
Two occupants were in the targeted vehicle at the time of the shooting, though no injuries have been reported.
Anyone who may have witnessed the interaction is asked to contact Cambridge OPP at 519-654-0150. Dash camera footage is also being collected.
The closure of those westbound lanes of traffic has since been lifted.
