A Guelph teenager is facing several charges after police were called to a south-end secondary school on reports of a gun.
Police were called around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday when staff learned an individual was at the school to sell cannabis to students. During some sort of interaction in a bathroom, a student said a small black handgun was seen.
The school was placed in lockdown but only for a short time. The suspect was located outside the school and arrested.
Police found the 17-year-old in possession of a black BB gun along with several small baggies of cannabis. Police say the suspect was not a student at the school.
The teen has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failing to comply with a judicial release and two counts under the Cannabis Act.
He will appear in court March 5.
