21-year-old arrested after robbing store in Uptown Waterloo

A robbery in Uptown Waterloo Monday afternoon has led to an arrest.

Police were called to a store on King Street South shortly after 5 p.m., after a male suspect tried to steal several items, and was confronted by an employee.

It’s alleged the robber then threatened to harm staff, before fleeing. Officers responded and were able to track a suspect down.

A 21-year-old man was arrested, and faces several charges including, robbery and disguise with intent.

He was held for a bail hearing.
