GRT launches 2024 winter service schedule

If you’re planning on taking the bus this holiday season you may want to plan ahead as Grand River Transit (GRT) has begun it’s holiday services schedule.

The changes come into effect Monday Dec. 23 and will run through till Jan. 5, 2025.

Route 201 and 202 will be reduced to every 15 minutes during peak service.

There will be some schedule alterations and reductions because of the holidays, especially on Dec. 25 and 26, and Jan. 1.

On New Year’s Eve though, there will be extended service on many routes to help you celebrate the end of 2024 safely.

If you’re planning to visit Ainslie Street Terminal or the customer service centre in Kitchener they will both be operating on holiday hours.

More details on the service changes can be found by clicking here.

In addition, the GRT is once again using it’s severe weather plan for the winter, which will see some stop closures and detours in the event of significant snowfall or freezing rain.
