Attempted murder charge laid after disturbance at Guelph home

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

A disturbance at a Guelph home has led to an attempted murder charge being laid.

Guelph police were called Thursday morning by a concerned citizen who saw an injured man walking down Arthur Street South shortly before 7 a.m.

Officers tracked down the injured male in the Wellington St. E. and Neeve St. area and the investigation brought them to a nearby home, where there were signs of a struggle.

A second male was located with head and face injuries and he was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is described as being non-life-threatening.

Police ultimately charged a 27-year-old Guelph man with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, and breaking into a residence to commit an indictable offence.

Police noted the involved men know each other and they called it a targeted incident.
