Rangers put on offensive show late in third period, beat Spitfires 7-4

It was a high scoring affair on Friday night at the Kitchener Aud as the Kitchener Rangers came away with a 7-4 win against the visiting Windsor Spitfires.

Kitchener would get the early 2-0 lead, with goals from Matthew Hlacar and Adrian Misaljevic, before Windsor would come back to tie it before the end of the second period.

The Rangers would explode on the offense with five goals during the third period, including two from Luca Romano and a game winning goal from Andrew Vermeulen. Misaljevic would get first star honours with Jackson Parsons securing the third star. Windsor’s Noah Morneau received second star honours after notching four points, including a hat trick.

With six games left to go in the regular season, the Rangers are currently in second place in the OHL standings with 92 points and a record of 43-13-4-2. They trail the London Knights, who have 100 points.

The Rangers will welcome their Hwy 7 rival, the Guelph Storm, on Sunday afternoon.
