Transport truck hits median on Hwy. 401 near Homer Watson Blvd.

There were heavy traffic delays on Highway 401 near Homer Watson Boulevard through Kitchener on Monday after a transport truck struck a median.

According to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the male transport truck driver was attempting to avoid a rear-end collision at the time.

The transport truck then veered to the shoulder and crashed into the concrete median on the highway.

There were no injuries and the driver was charged with making an unsafe movement.

The collision occurred around 1:30 p.m. and resulted in lane closures.

All eastbound 401 lanes reopened in the area around 5:30 p.m.
