Ambassador Bridge reopens following police investigation

By Denio Lourenco

Traffic is once again flowing across the Ambassador Bridge near the Canada-U.S. border following a police investigation.

Windsor Police said traffic coming from the U.S. side of the bridge was suspended around 10 a.m. Saturday for an “active investigation.”

The bridge remained open for outgoing traffic going to the United States while traffic into Canada was rerouted to the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel.

Canada Border Services Agency tells CityNews border officials and the Windsor Police are “working on an ongoing investigation” but provided no further details except that there is no threat to public safety.
