Buy-and-sell meetup in Kitchener turns robbery, regional police urging caution

Someone who was trying to sell some items online was met with a scary situation on Halloween.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, the incident happened in Kitchener on Thursday evening at 6 p.m.

The victim had arranged to meet with someone and sell an item they posted on a buy-and-sell website in the area of Queens Boulevard and Elm Ridge Drive.

When they arrived, they were approached by four or five suspects, dressed in all black and wearing black masks.

They assaulted the victim and stole their personal property.

Police say they believe it was a targeted incident.

They’re reminding the public to use the buy and sell exchange zones in waterloo region when selling items online, located in regional police facility parking lots.
