Red hot Rangers welcome Sarnia Sting

By Matt Hutcheson

The Kitchener Rangers are one of the hottest teams in the OHL right now, having won six in a row and nine of their first eleven games of the season.

The 9-2-1-1 record is good for first in the Midwest division, four games up on second place London. With two wins over the Erie Otters this past weekend, Kitchener is second in the Western conference and second overall, one point behind the league-leading Windsor Spitfires.

The Sarnia Sting visit the Auditorium tonight as the Rangers open a four-game home stand.

Sarnia is second in the West division, five points back of the high-flying Spitfires.

Kitchener will be without forwards Justin Bottineau and Jack LaBrash. Both were suspended for two games on Saturday for checking to the head infractions.

They’ll be eligible to return to the line-up on Sunday with Saginaw in town.

570 NewsRadio will have all the action tonight.

Mike Farwell and Paul Fixter are bringing the pre-game show at 6:30 p.m.
