Rangers close out ‘perfect’ weekend with streak-extending win over Storm

The Rangers capped off a statement weekend with an electric 4-2 win over their rivals down Highway 7, and they’ve now earned at least a point in each of their last nine games.

The Guelph Storm opened the scoring on Sunday night through Rylan Singh, but Rangers rookie Jack LaBrash netted his first-ever OHL goal to tie the game, and the Blueshirts never looked back.

Rangers forward Adrian Misaljevic continued his red-hot form, adding another goal and a pair of assists to bring his season total to 15 points, leading all Kitchener skaters.

570’s Colour Commentator Paul Fixter was very impressed with the Rangers’ ability to dominate their weekend matchups, especially considering two of those games came against a fierce divisional rival.

“Six points on a weekend is really impressive, and when you take four of those points from a divisional opponent, that is crucial, it keeps them below,” said Fixter.

“Those points are hard to get back once you’ve taken them from somebody, and Kitchener did a real good job at keeping Guelph where they are, and that’s below them.”

The Blueshirts get a much-deserved week off before suiting up to take on the Eerie Otters at The Aud on Friday, a chance for redemption after the Rangers fell to the Otters on the opening night of the season.
