Hate-motivated assault in Waterloo being investigated

Regional police are investigating a hate-motivated assault that happened October 27.

Around 11 p.m. in Waterloo, a male was approached by another male who yelled racial slurs at him, pushing him several times as well.

Police said the male victim was on foot in the area of King Street South and Union Street when it occurred.

The suspect fled the scene on foot according to police.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6’2, between the ages of 20 to 30-years-old and was seen wearing a black face covering with a grey hoodie.

no physical injuries were sustained by the victim.
