Guelph Police capture Alberta man wanted on Canada-wide warrant

Guelph Police captured an Edmonton man who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for sexual assault offences against a child.

According to Guelph Police, an officer was patrolling the south end of the Royal City last Wednesday when their cruiser’s automated license plate reader picked up the vehicle belonging to the wanted man outside of a business.

Members of the OPP’s Repeat Offender and Parole Enforcement collaborated with Guelph Police to arrest the 54-year-old, who is wanted in Alberta for sexual assault against a child.

He was held in custody while awaiting extradition to Alberta.
