Elderly woman one of two people hurt in north Waterloo crash

A woman in her eighties, and another in her sixties were hurt in a collision in north Waterloo.

It happened around 1:30, Sunday afternoon, at the intersection of Hazel Street and Austin Drive, just north of Columbia Street.

Waterloo Regional Police tell 570 NewsRadio it was a two-vehicle crash.

Police say the 62-year-old and the 84-year-old who were hurt were in the same vehicle, and were sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.

Police sent up their drone for aerial photographs of the scene.

There’s no word yet about possible charges, as the investigation continues.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses they’ve not already spoken to, especially anyone with relevant dashcam video.
