Police have charged three people in relation to a trafficking bust in Guelph that saw more than $22,000 worth of drugs seized.

The Guelph Police Service launched the investigation earlier this summer after the drug enforcement unit received information from multiple sources about a trio of suspects allegedly supplying fentanyl to vulnerable people downtown.

On Wednesday morning, officers simultaneously searched three addresses on Willow Road and Waterloo Avenue.

Through the busts, multiple drugs were seized including fentanyl, carfentanyl, crystal meth, and hydromorphone pills; that’s in addition to almost $7,500 in cash and two replica firearms.

“We are committed to ensuring the safety of our citizens and will not allow the trafficking of these illegal substances to be normalized,” said Guelph Police Chief Gord Cobey, in a release. “We will be relentless in our efforts to hold accountable those who seek to profit from these dangerous drugs.”

A 42-year-old Guelph woman, 40-year-old Guelph man and a 32-year-old Guelph man were all arrested and charged with trafficking-related offences.
