Maple Grove improvements bring closures to north Cambridge

A massive road improvement project enters its next stage in Cambridge this weekend, bringing some significant traffic impacts to keep in mind for people’s driving.

The $70 million project looks to improve Maple Grove Road between Hespeler Road and Vondrau Drive, including new roundabouts at both Hespeler and Beaverdale roads.

Improvements also include road widening, rehabilitation of the Ellis Creek bridge and more.

The latest phase will bring a slate of closures beginning on Friday, stretching through to Monday, in order to ensure workers can safely replace surface asphalt through that Hespeler Road roundabout

Those closures include:

  • Hespeler Road between Queen Street and Guelph Avenue
  • Maple Grove Road at Beaverdale Road
  • Fisher Mlls Road at Hespeler Road

The region also warns that access between Maple Grove Road and Fisher Mills Road through the Hespeler Road roundabout will not be available during this time frame.

Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signage through the area.
