Guelph man who wanted swastika tattoo on forehead arrested for threatening shop owner

A request for a racist tattoo led to threats and the arrest of a Guelph man.
According to Guelph Police, on Sept. 5 the owner of a tattoo shop in Guelph was standing outside of the business when a 63-year-old man approached her.
He asked the owner if she would tattoo a swastika on his forehead. She refused and told him that nobody at the shop would do that tattoo for him.
The 63-year-old man threatened her before walking away and leaving the area.
“The threat was something along the nature of ‘I will destroy you’,” said Scott Tracey, spokesperson for Guelph Police.
“Whether that’s a threat to her personally or to the business, she took it as a threat. Officers believed that she had every right to feel threatened by that.”
On Thursday morning, officers located the man in downtown Guelph and arrested him.
He was charged with uttering threats and will appear in court on Oct. 29.
