Police probe gas station robbery, release video of person they want to identify

Waterloo Regional Police continue to probe a robbery at a local gas station and have released video of a person they want to identify in connection with the investigation.

The robbery was reported around 1:50 a.m. on Sept. 7 at a gas station in the Margaret Avenue and Guelph Street area of Kitchener.

According to police, a suspect entered the business and wielded a knife. They demanded cash from an employee before fleeing the scene.

There were no reported injuries and the suspect is described as being white with a heavy build, and was wearing a brown hoodie, blue jeans, and dark shoes.

On Sept. 10, police released surveillance video of a person of interest and asked for help in identifying the individual.

The video appears to show someone wearing a mask and a brown hoodie.
