Arrest made after delivery vehicle theft, crash near St. Mary’s General Hospital

Waterloo Regional Police have made an arrest in connection with a delivery vehicle theft in Kitchener.
The incident was reported Tuesday afternoon in the Queen’s Boulevard and Rex Drive area near St. Mary’s General Hospital.
According to police, a delivery vehicle was stolen around 3 p.m. and the driver was then involved in numerous collisions shortly after.
Police tell CityNews 570, four other vehicles were involved in those collisions, including a Grand River Transit bus.
The suspect allegedly tried to flee, and steal another vehicle but was arrested by officers minutes later.
No one was hurt in the multiple crashes.
An 18-year-old man is facing multiple charges including theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving.
Police say they do not believe this was a car-jacking situation.
