Police investigating report of gunshots in Kitchener’s Centreville neighbourhood

Waterloo Regional Police are now investigating a report of gunshots heard in the Centreville area of Kitchener.

It was just before 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday when police notified the public of a heavy police presence in the area of Harold Avenue and Jean Avenue.

While details are limited at this time, police say they received a call around 6:35 a.m. of shots fired into a residential building.

No physical injuries have been reported, while police have indicated they believe the incident was targeted in nature.

The public is being asked to avoid the area as police conduct their investigation, including a canvass by detectives.
