Waterloo Region celebrates Star Wars Day

An event today in Waterloo to celebrate something that happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

In celebration of May the Fourth, the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum is celebrating everything Star Wars on Saturday.

Fans of the beloved sci-fi franchise will get a chance to interact with an actual lightsaber, dress up as their favourite otherworldly character, and enjoy out-of-this-world snacks.

Children will also get a chance to build their own droids and make interstellar slime.

May 4 became the day to celebrate the popular franchise as a play on words for the iconic phrase: “May the force be with you”.

The event runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
