Date set for public to have their say about pedestrian underpass at Franklin, Saginaw

The public can have their say on April 25 about an innovative development in Cambridge meant to keep high school students, in particular, safe.

The project will see new roundabouts on Franklin Boulevard at Can-Amera Parkway and at Saginaw Parkway. It will come with a pedestrian tunnel under Franklin Boulevard across Elgin Street. It would mostly be used by students at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School.

The City of Cambridge is also putting up a roundabout at Saginaw Parkway and Green Vista Drive.

The Region of Waterloo is hosting a public meeting on Thursday, April 25, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at St. Benedict School at 50 Saginaw Parkway.

The event will include a presentation at 7:00 p.m., followed by an open house and questions from the public.

Anyone who can not make it to that meeting can share their concerns online.
