Around $500K in damage after fire at Kitchener business

Damage is estimated around $500,000 after a fire broke out at a Kitchener business on Monday morning.

Crews with the Kitchener Fire Department responded to the scene at 707 Belmont Avenue West around 10:13 a.m.

The business, along with adjoining businesses, were evacuated.

No one was hurt in the fire.

The cause was a malfunctioning electric space heater.
