Woman in her 20s seriously injured in Kitchener midnight collision

A pedestrian in her 20s suffered life-threatening injuries in a midnight collision in Kitchener.

Regional police said it happened just a few minutes after 12 a.m. Wednesday morning, at the intersection of Homer Watson Boulevard and Pioneer Drive.

They say a 29-year-old woman from Kitchener was hit by a Mazda sedan.

She was taken to an out-of-region hospital.

The 22-year-old from Kitchener driving the car was not hurt.

Police said on X at about 1:30 a.m. they were sending up their drone to help gather evidence.

Police have since indicated charges are expected to be laid, but for now the investigation continues.
