2 women injured, 1 critically, in Sunday morning shooting on Highway 6 South

Two women have been injured, one critically, following an early morning shooting along a stretch of Highway 6 in Hamilton.
Initially, provincial police had released few details, but Sgt. Kerry Schmidt confirmed it was a shooting that Burlington OPP are investigating.
OPP say the incident happened Sunday shortly after 5 a.m.
The highway between Concession 5 and Millgrove Side Road was closed early Sunday morning, but has now re-opened.
An investigation is ongoing from the OPP Highway Safety Division Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation branch.
A black Honda sedan was covered in a green tarp on one side of the roadway for most of the day.
Hamilton paramedics say they transported two women, believed to be in their 20s, to a local trauma centre. One was listed in life-threatening condition and the other was listed in serious condition. The cause of their injuries was not immediately available.
OPP Sgt. Martin Hill spoke with CityNews and confirmed there is no concern for public safety.
