A stolen stash of ‘stachios! Truck taken from Baden business with $70,000 in nuts

Some criminals are just nuts: Waterloo Regional Police need to find a truck full of $70,000 in stolen pistachios.

Police said it happened around 9:30 p.m., Saturday night, with a truck taken from the yard of a business around Foundry Street and Gingerich Road in Baden.

A transport truck and trailer, loaded with nuts, were stolen.

Police did not specify the value of the truck.

But, they said this is the second theft like this in recent months.

Back on Nov. 5, a truck loaded with walnuts was stolen from the yard of a business around Eagle Street and Hespeler Road in Cambridge.

Police have not said one way or the other if the two crimes could be connected.
