Charges anticipated after collision involving pedestrian in Kitchener

Regional police say charges are anticipated following a late afternoon crash in Kitchener.

It was just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday when emergency crews responded to Manitou Drive near Courtland for reports of a crash.

According to police, that crash involved a Chevrolet Equinox and a pedestrian.

The individual that was struck was taken to an out-of-region hospital.

Their injuries have been described as serious, though non-life-threatening.

While roadways were closed in the area for several hours on Wednesday, they have since reopened.

The investigation is still ongoing – anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam footage is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
