Snow squall warning lifted for Waterloo Region

There were variable weather conditions overnight Monday into Tuesday morning.

Environment Canada upgraded a snow squall watch to a snow squall warning for Waterloo Region and surrounding areas.

That warning has since been lifted.

The weather agency called for possible snow squalls overnight on Monday into Tuesday, bringing local snow accumulations between 10 to 20 cm.

Those conditions eased through Tuesday night, leading to the snow squall warning being dropped.

The periods of heavy snow did have a significant impact on the drive, however.

Waterloo Regional Police said between 6 a.m and 10 a.m. on Tuesday there were 20 reports of collisions.
