Jewellery store in Kitchener hit with a second smash-and-grab robbery

A customer was hurt in the latest smash-and-grab at a jewellery store in the Region of Waterloo, and it happened at a store that was already hit this year.

This time it happened Saturday afternoon at Fischer-Hallman Road and Highland Road West in Kitchener.

Officers with the Waterloo Regional Police Service were called out to the scene around 3 p.m. on February 28.

Police said three male suspects came into the store, wielding blunt instruments, smashed open display cases, and stole jewellery.

They left the scene in a getaway car waiting in the parking lot, police said.

One customer suffered minor injuries, but did not need to go to a hospital.

Police confirmed to 570 NewsRadio that this happened at the MT Jewellers store inside the Great Canadian Superstore, the same location was hit with a similar robbery on the afternoon of Jan. 13.

Investigators need to hear from anyone who knows anything about what happened in either robbery.
