Kitchener opens new rentable storefront space at City Hall

The City of Kitchener has opened a new retail pop up space at 220 King St W, with the holidays just around the corner.

The new space, called Square Peg, will be available to rent for local retailers, makers and artists looking to improve their business in the Downtown Core.

“We are re-thinking retail and turning an asset into an opportunity,” said Mayor Berry Vrbanovic in a press release.

“The new Square Peg pop-up space will help showcase active, emerging, and local retail talent while demonstrating our Downtown Kitchener (DTK) commitment to creating vibrancy, connection, and a sense of belonging in our downtown.”

The first rental of the new space will be the KWFamous Annual Holiday Pop Up Shoppe. It will open November 22 and run until December 31. It will will feature 125 local vendors, along with special events.

It will be open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
